-40°C Low-Temperature Lithium Batteries, Operable at -40°C
-40°C Low-Temperature Lithium Batteries
Operable at -40°C
In low-temperature environments, lithium batteries are significantly affected by temperature. Unless specially customized, they generally cannot function. Currently, the primary lithium batteries operating at -40°C are low-temperature polymer lithium batteries and low-temperature lithium iron phosphate batteries. Zhongke Lithium Battery, with 21 years of dedicated R&D and manufacturing expertise, stands as a renowned industry manufacturer. Through continuous technological updates and innovation, we have successfully developed batteries capable of discharging and functioning reliably in sub-zero temperature, ensuring reliable performance even at -40°C.
-40°C Low-Temperature Lithium Batteries
Conventional lithium batteries operate within an ambient temperature range of -20°C to 65°C. However, in extreme environments such as geological exploration, aerospace, defense science and technology, and other specialized industries, lithium batteries must function beyond the standard -20°C limit. Specially manufactured low-temperature lithium batteries can operate at -40°C or even lower ambient temperatures. Custom-designed battery packs enable low-temperature lithium batteries to charge and discharge at -50°C.
Low-temperature batteries are categorized into three series based on their operating environments:
Civilian low-temperature batteries
Special-purpose low-temperature batteries
Extreme-environment low-temperature batteries
Civilian Low-Temperature Lithium Batteries:
At -20°C, 0.2C discharge capacity exceeds 80% of rated capacity;
At -30°C, 0.2C discharge capacity exceeds 50% of rated capacity.
Specialized Low-Temperature Lithium Batteries:
At -40°C, 0.2C discharge capacity exceeds 80% of rated capacity;
At -50°C, 0.2C discharge capacity exceeds 30% of rated capacity.
Extreme Environment Low-Temperature Lithium Batteries: At -50°C, the battery discharges at 0.2C and retains over 50% of its rated capacity.
Low-temperature batteries represent a specialized category within the battery industry, focusing on advanced battery technology. While standard batteries can discharge at temperatures around -20°C, discharging down to -40°C demands significantly higher performance standards. Below are the key features of the -40°C low-temperature lithium battery developed by Shenzhen Zhongke Electronics Co., Ltd., a national high-tech enterprise.
